Vanessa is auctioning the gorgeous one-of-a-kind Candies Couture Dress that she wore at the MTV Video Music Awards last year. The size two dress is made from silk georgette and frosted baby sequins and all money raised will be donated to Stand Up To Cancer – a charity which Vanessa actively supports as she has attended events and done a PSA for the charity. The Elephant Project is a non-profit organization that donates money raised from the auction of celebrity autographs to the Alzheimer’s Association.

During the shoot for Gimme Shelter in July, Vanessa signed an Elephant Project card (pictured above) for the charity to auction. They even tweeted about the meeting HERE and now the memorabilia is up for auction as part of the 2011 Holiday Auctions. The winner will receive the signed card and their trademark Beanie Baby. Neutrogena’s Wave For Change Campaign 2011 launched today and Vanessa and co-spokeswoman Hayden Panettiere, were on hand to help. At the event, they packed up relief kits in Los Angeles and spoke with media outlets about the campaign.

Vanessa posted on her Facebook all the details of how you get help the great cause:

We are trying to spread the word to raise even more funds for Global Giving which benefits various charities including those linked to disaster relief, education and environmental causes. Its the second year of Neutrogena’s Wave For Change charity campaign and Vanessa, with her fellow brand ambassadors Miranda Cosgrove and Hayden Panettiere, have each designed tote bags for different causes. Vanessa told People:

“My tote bag [pictured left] is benefiting disaster relief projects in the United States. It’s cool that you can help others and get a fun, fashionable bag. It was fun to design and it’s the perfect tote for summer to use when shopping or even by the pool or at the beach.”

The trio’s designs are available from July 1st -August 31st for those who purchase 2 Neutrogena products from Target. Check out Neutrogena’s website for more on the campaign.

Vanessa attended The Palazzo and Jimmy Choo Shopping Day Charity Benefit at the Staples Center last week in support of The Lakers’ Youth Foundation and STAPLES Center Foundation. An array of celebrities, including Disney star Brenda Song, met to browse the hottest new designer goodies whilst raising money for a great cause. Vanessa brought a snakeskin bag to add to her vast fashion collection and said “The snakeskin one is my favorite; it’s so gorgeous!”.

‘Love Is Louder’ is a campaign that was started by MTV, The Jed Foundation and Vanessa’s BFF Brittany Snow after the lives of multiple teenagers were lost to suicide in September 2010. Their main message is “that love and support is more powerful than the external and internal voices that bring us down, cause us pain and make us feel hopeless”.
