Deadline.com have posted a number of updates on the casting of Spring Breakers:

This high profile indie written and directed by Harmony Korine now sounds even more like the ultimate dream project targeted to tween/teen gals and guys. Already cast are Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens and now Deadline has learned Pretty Little Liars co-star Ashley Benson just booked a role. But two weeks ago Emma Roberts fell out of the movie. So with a February 12 starting date in Florida, Spring Breakers is still looking for its fourth girl. Starring James Franco, the logline describes the pic as four gorgeous college-age girls rob a fast food restaurant in order to afford a spring break trip to Florida. When they’re arrested, they meet up with a drug and arms dealer (Franco) who entices them to kill his arch rival.

So, as soon as Journey 2 promotion is over, Vanessa will be back on set working on her new project! We are so excited to see Vanessa working alongside Selena and Ashley (and of course James Franco too!) and can’t wait to hear more about this movie.

Promotion for Journey 2: The Mysterious Island will commence in January in Australia, where Vanessa and Josh Hutcherson will be attending events and interviews for the film.

The pair will attend premieres for the movie in Melbourne on January 15th and in Sydney on January 17th before the film is released in Australia on January 19th. We”ll be adding more dates for promotion of the movie in the sidebar so be sure to check back!

Production of ‘Frozen Ground‘ commenced in Anchorage, Alaska on October 17th with Vanessa flying out a few days earlier. Check out some more info about the project below.

Deadline reports that:

Walker is making his directorial debut on his scripted drama about the hunt for Alaska’s most notorious serial predator, Robert Hansen. John Cusack is playing Hansen, regarded in the community as a respected family man but who, in the span of 12 years, abducted more than 24 women, flew them into the Alaskan wilderness and hunted and murdered them. Vanessa Hudgens plays the lone victim who escapes and Nicholas Cage plays the Alaskan State Trooper who finds her on the street. Together they work to bring Hansen to justice.

Other cast members include 50 Cent (who will play Vanessa’s character’s pimp) and Katherine LeNasa. Anchorage Daily News reports that:

“Frozen Ground” is shaping up to be a smaller-scale, faster-paced production – producer Randall Emmett said his film will cost in the mid-$20 million range.

‘Frozen Ground’ will be filmed in just a 26 day schedule, so expect to see Vanessa back in Los Angeles very soon!

Its time to nominate candidates for the People’s Choice Awards 2012! This year, Vanessa is nominated in the ““Favourite Movie Star Under 25 Presented by Moviefone” category alongside stars including Emma Watson, Kristen Stewart and last year’s winner Zac Efron.

The top five choices in each category will become nominees ready for another round of public voting to find out the winner. Voting closes on November 8th so vote as often as you can to help get V nominated!

Vanessa has posted a picture of herself getting her hair cut off for Gimme Shelter on her Website. She posted:

This is the big day I cut my hair. At first the hair stylist started and my director Ron (in the photo) thought it didn’t look choppy enough. So, I grabbed the scissors, started cutting, an before I knew it so was Ron. Made for a quite interesting look!
