Production of ‘Frozen Ground‘ commenced in Anchorage, Alaska on October 17th with Vanessa flying out a few days earlier. Check out some more info about the project below.

Deadline reports that:

Walker is making his directorial debut on his scripted drama about the hunt for Alaska’s most notorious serial predator, Robert Hansen. John Cusack is playing Hansen, regarded in the community as a respected family man but who, in the span of 12 years, abducted more than 24 women, flew them into the Alaskan wilderness and hunted and murdered them. Vanessa Hudgens plays the lone victim who escapes and Nicholas Cage plays the Alaskan State Trooper who finds her on the street. Together they work to bring Hansen to justice.

Other cast members include 50 Cent (who will play Vanessa’s character’s pimp) and Katherine LeNasa. Anchorage Daily News reports that:

“Frozen Ground” is shaping up to be a smaller-scale, faster-paced production – producer Randall Emmett said his film will cost in the mid-$20 million range.

‘Frozen Ground’ will be filmed in just a 26 day schedule, so expect to see Vanessa back in Los Angeles very soon!

Its time to nominate candidates for the People’s Choice Awards 2012! This year, Vanessa is nominated in the ““Favourite Movie Star Under 25 Presented by Moviefone” category alongside stars including Emma Watson, Kristen Stewart and last year’s winner Zac Efron.

The top five choices in each category will become nominees ready for another round of public voting to find out the winner. Voting closes on November 8th so vote as often as you can to help get V nominated!

Vanessa has posted a picture of herself getting her hair cut off for Gimme Shelter on her Website. She posted:

This is the big day I cut my hair. At first the hair stylist started and my director Ron (in the photo) thought it didn’t look choppy enough. So, I grabbed the scissors, started cutting, an before I knew it so was Ron. Made for a quite interesting look!

Vanessa Hudgens has been set to star alongside Nicolas Cage and John Cusack in Frozen Ground, the Emmett/Furla Films thriller. The film, which will begin shooting October 17 in Anchorage, Alaska, marks the feature directing debut of Scott Walker, who wrote the script.

Pic is based on true events surrounding Alaska’s most notorious serial predator, Robert Hansen. Cusack is playing Hansen, regarded in the community as a respected family man. In the span of 12 years, he abducted more than 24 women, flew them into the Alaskan wilderness, and hunted and murdered them. Hudgens will play the one teenage victim who escaped. When she returned to tell her story, nobody believed her. Cage will play the Alaskan State Trooper who finds her on the street. Together they work to bring Hansen to justice.

During Vanessa’s recent appearance at Huntington Beach for the US Open of Surfing, she took part in a photoshoot in her hotel. As previously posted, Vanessa hosted the Hurley ‘Walk The Walk’ Championships yesterday afternoon (Thursday) at the US Open of Surfing on Huntington Beach, California. Being a fashion fiesta, Vanessa showcased her impeccable style in a pink backless Hurley Waterfall dress, fun patterned bikini, Kettle Black studded sandals, a chunky brown belt and loads of layered Katie Costello necklaces – beach chic!

During the event she was pictured with model Marissa Miller, actor and co-host Tristan Wilds and professional surfers including Rob Machado and Kelly Slater; she also posed with her very own Hudgens Hurley T-Shirt!
