Sucker Punch hits US theaters TODAY. (Rated PG 13)

Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch cuts directly across the grain, titillates with Supernova imagery and presents a flawed yet beautiful mosaic of wonder and combat in the highly anticipated Warner Bros action-fantasy flick.
The film opens with a montage of a pre-institutionalized and recently motherless Baby Doll fending off an abusive father figure with stomach-churning pedophilic undertones. The haunting rendition of “Sweet Dreams” (sung by Emily Browning) rains gloom and foreshadows foul play to come. Dialogue does not pierce the ear for several aching minutes, at which point Baby Doll is locked against her will amongst soon-to-be comrades Sweet-Pea, Rocket, Blondie and Amber (portrayed respectively by Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Chung).
RENT begins its three night run at the Hollywood Bowl tonight. It stars our very own Vanessa Hudgens and is directed by Neil Patrick Harris (who appears in Beastly with V!).

So, it happened. I finally got to see HSM 3 on the big screen (Thank you very much for the delay Disney, you should be lucky I love you so much) and I have no words…well, actually I have a thousand words but we’d be here all day if I described to you how amazingly, utterly, stupendously awesome it was (and y’all know that already). Instead, I decided to write this review as an extended ‘Random but True’ list of all the little details which made me laugh, cry and generally attract multiple “Is that girl insane?” type stares…
