I just saw the Video of the Extra Tanika interview. I had completely forgotten that they did change a few things on Vanessa like the small daisies she had in her hair. I’m really trying to get this all down before I forget.

Back to the words of the song. Here goes;
G: Trooooy  (like she is crying out to him so that he can hear her but its musical.)
T: Right now I can hardly breathe

I guess I wasn’t paying close enough attention. So there, mistake corrected. I was just too busy watching Zac from underneath the card resting on my head. I had a perfect view of Zac standing there singing his little heart out to V. We shot this scene so many times, I feel like all day. But Kenny is a perfectionist and we had to get the whole whole card flipping thing down perfectly. The speakers are blasting the song and even though their voices are already on the music track they actually sing out to it as well. Sometimes when Kenny would yell cut, the sound track would stop and they would still be singing. I know. Priceless. I also want to say Zac is so extremely hot. I know, you didn’t know that did you But he is more so in person, if that’s even possible for him to be any hotter.

So after numerous multiple takes due to our very sad card flipping abilities, Kenny decides everyone needs a break. During the break I spy Zac on the gym floor walking around conversing with camera people and crew people, shaking their hands, laughing and carrying on with them. He is so genuine. The girls were able to come down for a bit and Vanessa wondered onto the gym floor. I did see she and Zac at the opposite corner of the gym where they had a lot of equipment set up and most of the crew were working from there. I caught them facing each other and talking to each other and then he reached out and grabbed her hand and they held hands. He then led them over to the part of the bleachers that were for the cast and crew and sat down, each turned toward the other. They were having their own little conversation. When the two of them are together, you can tell, in their eyes the world around them just isn’t there. The love they show each other, just spills out all around them. You know that chemistry these two give off when you see them together on film or in pictures, you know what I mean, those stolen glances they give each other that melt you heart….…well, take that and magnify it by a million kilowatts when you see it in person. It just stills my heart and takes my breath away. These two kids I believe, have really found their soul mate in each other. And if after two years its still this strong, I believe they have what it takes for the long haul.

So, now Kenny is ready for us again. I see Zac and Vanessa give each other a little hug and they smile at each other. They hold hands and start walking back to our side of the gym with Vanessa skipping behind him. Awwwwwww, so cute!!

Okay back to card flipping. Poor Zac and Vanessa the only reason we were there until 1:30 am is because of us, the extras. Trying to get this flipping right. We would run the scene and Kenny would yell cut and then take 5 or 10 to check the dailies to see how we looked. And then we would run it again. Since Zac was the one standing on his feet the whole time, late into the night, you could see he was getting tired. But he never, I repeat never, showed any aggravation or frustration about this. You could just see it in his face, he was tired. None of the actors or crew showed any frustration with us. They were all so patient.

Eventually we finally get the flip looking good enough for Kenny and it’s 1:15 am. Whew. Kenny cuts for the day and tells us to be there Sunday at noon. We were tired. We watch Zac and Vanessa leave the gym, arms around each others waist. We wait in wardrobe for what seemed like about an hour to turn in our t-shirts. We were told we would not get paid for the day if we didn’t turn in those t-shirts. Our pay was 82.00 for the day plus we got time and half over the 8 hours we were there. We were told to fill out cards with our names and pin them to the shirts for distribution on Sunday. I learned on Sunday that wardrobe people were up all night washing those shirts. I have a much better respect for all the people who are behind the scenes of film production. Taylor and I make our way to our hotel and surprisingly are very ramped up about the whole thing and can’t sleep. We just keep talking about how cute Zac and Vanessa are around each other and the whole movie. It was a good day. No, it was an insanely fabulous day! We finally get to sleep around 3.

Sunday morning we dine at the hotel’s Sunday brunch before we leave for the set. We arrive at East High earlier than Saturday and have no waiting. We sign in and go to the auditorium for further instruction, we fill out pay vouchers again and are told again about the t-shirt return at the end of the day if we wanted to get paid. We’re told we need to wait for wardrobe to get all the T-shirts ready. We’re finally ready to go, T-shirts on and sitting in the auditorium. They come out and tell us that they are filming close up scenes of Gabriella when she is in the bleachers singing to Troy and they needed the immediate 10 people that were sitting around her, they needed to go to make-up and hair. Lucky them. Then they were taken to the gym to be seated around Vanessa, Momo and Olesya. Then they called for the next 20 people who were around her and they were taken directly to the gym and seated around the ones that were already there. And so on. Taylor and are in group 4 that were around her.

We go to the gym and when we walked in I was really surprised. Besides the crew, Zac, Vanessa, MoMo and Olesya we were the only ones in the gym. So basically it was just the one end section of the bleachers that V and we were in. The rest of the gym is empty. And better yet they had moved the camera track at an angle coming towards the front of the bleachers near where I was sitting on Saturday. The close up scenes are filmed by the cameraman rolling up the track slowly towards the front of the bleachers. They seat us on the bleachers on the other side of the entrance doors, so very close to the filming. They are leaving the bottom section of the bleachers open where I was sitting on Sat. The reason is, because the camera that’s on the rolling track to get the close-ups was using that space of bleachers when it came in close. So Tay and I are sitting on the bottom bleacher at the end closest to the entrance doors. The camera track is right in front of us. And so is Zac…..yah! up closeness with the hotness.

Now, remember they’re only filming close-ups of V’s singing part and she’s singing with the music track that is blasting through the gym. By all rights, Zac doesn’t really have to be there. They are both acting professionals and she could easily pull that scene off without him, but you know our Zaccy he was there for her, every step of the way. He was standing to the side of the camera at the end of the track furthest away, then as the scene starts he starts walking very slowly with the cameraman, his hand resting on the front of the camera as they rolled up track towards her. He was singing his part of the song along with her. He did this with all this feeling in his body language and face as I ever witnessed on Saturday. Even more feeling than when he and Gabi did her “Gotta Go My Own Way” song in HSM2. His face about made me cry btw. I was so excited because I was just an observer and I didn‘t have to worry about my card flipping abilities. Since we were in the front row we were closest to Zac and not but 15 feet away, if that. I would look over at him smiling and he would smile back, we made eye contact several times. I know!!!! Eye contact with the hotness. Can you believe it. I still can’t. (faints) We spent most of the day watching them do this one close-up scene. I’m not complaining, I loved it, because for the first time I got to see Vanessa singing her part. She is the most amazing, beautiful person. She has all this energy and bounciness to her.
